दीलेरखानाने कोकणात उतरण्याचा प्रयत्न केला पण मराठ्यांनी तो उधळून लावला.हा प्रकार नेमका कुठल्या घाटात घडला याची माहिती उपलब्ध नाही. यात दीलेरखानाचे १००० सैनिक मारले गेले तर सुमारे ४०० ते ५०० मराठेही या लढाईत धारातिर्थी पडले.

औरंगजेब बादशहाचा वकील "शेख महंमद" गोव्यात दाखल झाला. मुघलांच्या स्वराज्यावरील संभाव्य आक्रमणात पोर्तुगीजांनी सामिल व्हावे आणि जाणाऱ्या "रसद" ला उपद्रव देऊ नये या अटी फिरंग्यांपुढे मांडल्या. एकीकडे बलाढ्य औरंगजेब बादशाह अणि दुसरीकडे पराक्रमी छत्रपती शंभुराजे अशा कात्रीत सापडलेल्या पोर्तुगीज व्हाँईसरॉयने बादशहाच्या अटी मान्य केल्या. आणि वरून संभाजीराजांशी मैत्रीचे नाटक सुरु ठेवले.कल्याणजवळ पारसीक येथे किल्ला बांधण्याची तयारी संभाजीराजांनी सुरू केली असताना पोर्तुगीजांनी तेथे किल्ला बांधून पूर्ण केला. इतकेच नव्हे तर फिरंग्यांच्या प्रांतातून मुघलांना दिवसा ढवळ्या रसद पोहोचू लागली. फिरंग्याचा हा दुटप्पीपणा लक्षात येता संभाजीराजेंनी उत्तर कोकण या त्यांच्या मुलखातील गावे बेचिराख केली.

Realizing this duplicity of Firanga, Sambhaji Raje sold out the villages in his native North Konkan.
