१२ जानेवारी या दिवशी महराष्ट्राच्या इतिहासाला एक कलाटणी मिळाली होती. स्वाभिमानाची आणि स्वातंत्र्याची साक्षात भवानी जिजाऊ रूपाने सिंदखेडराजा येथे लखुजीराजे जाधवांच्या घरी प्रकटली. हीच तीस्वराज्य-जननी, हीच ती माता जिने स्वराज्याचे देखणे स्वप्न देखिले, हीच ती जननी जिने आमच्या रक्ता रक्ता मध्ये स्वाभिमान भिनवला. जिने 'प्रत्येक' मावळ्या मध्ये शिवबा घडवला. स्वराज्या साठी लढणाऱ्या प्रत्येकावर आगदी शिवबा प्रमाणेच प्रेम केले. जिजाऊ साहेबांनी आपल्या मायेने शिवबांसाठी जीवाला जीव देणारे मावळे घडवले, स्वाभिमानाच्या ठिणगीने त्यांना पेटवले आणि पुढे हीच स्वराज्याची मशाल क्रूर यवनांना जाळून खाक करू लागली.आमच्या ह्याच शूर मावळ्यांना स्वप्नात पण बघून हेच जुलमी दुश्मन झोपेत पण दचकून जागी व्हायचे. ह्या सर्वांना एकत्र ठेवणारा तो शिवबा ह्याच माउलीने घडविला.या माउलीने आपले उभे आयुष्य या स्वराज्याच्या जडण घडणीसाठी पणाला लावले. आपले सौभाग्य आणि आपल्या पोटचा गोळा देखील या स्वराज्याला ओवाळून टाकीला. एक पत्नी म्हणून धीराने शहाजी राजांच्या सोबत उभ्या राहिल्या. शिवरायांच्या मातृत्वा बरोबरच त्यांचे गुरुत्व हि त्यांनी स्वीकारले; प्रसंगी याच माउलीने हाती तलवारही धरली. स्वदेश, स्वधर्म, स्वभाषेची जान तेंव्हा सर्वांना झाली आणि अखेर कित्येक वर्षाच्या संघर्षा नंतर ३२ मन सोन्याचेसिंहासन रायगडी अवतरले.स्वराज्य मिळाले आणि त्या स्वराज्याला छत्रपती मिळाला. जिजाऊच्या नव्हे तर कुणाच्या आशीर्वादाने.
