नारो बापूजी मुदगल यांचे बलिदान६ जानेवारी - ९ जानेवारी १६६४ पर्यंत महाराजांनी मनसोक्त सूरत लुटली. बाद्शःची सुरत बतसुरत झाली. सुरतेची धनलक्ष्मी घेउन मराठे थेट लोहगडावर पोचले. शहाजी राजांच्या मृत्युची बातमी कळताच महाराज राजगडी निघून गेले. लुटीचा माघ काढीत मोघली हेर लोहगडाच्या आसमंतात पोचले आणि तडक मागे जुन्नरहुन मुकुंदसिंह लोहगडाच्या दिशेने निघाला. नारो बापूजी हे बापूजी श्रीपत मुदगल नर्हेंकर देशपांडे यांचे पुत्र. वडगावजवळ नारो बापुजिंच्या आणि मुकुंदसिंहाच्या सैन्याचा सामना झाला. सुदनारो बापूजी आपली नागवी समशेर नाचवित मोघलांनवर असे काही तुटून पडले होते की, मुघलांची त्रेधातिरपिट उडाली. या वीराला कसा थोपवावा हेच मुकुंदसिंहास कळत नव्हते. शेवटी मुघली तिरंदाजाने सोडलेला तिर नारो बापुजिंच्या छातीत घुसला आणि ते धरणीवर कोसळले.जय जगदंब जय जिजाऊ जय शिवराय जय शंभूराजे

Sacrifice of Naro Bapuji Mudgal
From 6th January to 9th January 1664, the Maharaja plundered Surat. Badshah's face turned pale. Taking Dhanalakshmi of Surat, the Marathas reached Lohgad directly. Upon hearing the news of Shahaji Raja's death, Maharaj left Rajgadi. Following the looting, the Mughal spies reached the skies of Lohgad and suddenly Mukund Singh set out from Junnar towards Lohgad. Naro Bapuji is the son of Bapuji Shripat Mudgal Narhenkar Deshpande. Near Wadgaon, the army of Naro Bapuji and Mukund Singh met. Sudanaro Bapuji had fallen on the Mughals dancing his naked samsher in such a way that the Mughals started trembling. Mukund Singh did not know how to stop this hero. Eventually the arrow fired by the Mughal archer penetrated Naro Bapuji's chest and he fell to the ground.
