सुमारे २ वर्षे लालमहालात ठाण मांडून बसलेल्या शास्ताखान उर्फ़ शाहिस्तेखानावर शिवरायांचा आकस्मिक छापा. चैत्र शुद्ध अष्टमी म्हणजेच रामनवमीच्या आदल्या दिवशी आणि मुस्लिम लोकांच्या रोज्याच्या ६ व्या दिवशी धक्कादायक असा छापा. खान कसाबसा पसार मात्र खानाची ३ बोटे कापली. जिवाच्या भीतीने खान तिकडून जो पळाला तो थेट औरंगाबादला जाउन थांबला.🏇🏿⛳🏇🏿⛳🏇🏿⛳🏇🏿⛳🏇🏿⛳🏇🏿

मराठा सरखेल 'कान्होजी आंग्रे' यांच्या आरमाराला जशास तसे उत्तर देण्यासाठी सर्व तह बाजूला सारून ईस्ट इंडिया कंपनीच्या बॉम्बे कौन्सिलच्या बैठकीत आंग्र्यांना धडा शिकवण्याचा निर्णय घेतला गेला. पुढे काही दिवसांनी इंग्रजांनी आंग्र्यांचे एक शिबाड पकडले तेंव्हा आंग्र्यांनी इंग्रजांना पत्र पाठवले."तुमची आमची मैत्री संपली. इथून पुढे देवाची कृपा होउन माझ्या हाती जे लागेल ते घेतल्याशिवाय मी राहणार नाही."🏇🏿⛳🏇🏿⛳🏇🏿⛳🏇🏿⛳🏇🏿⛳🏇🏿 जय जगदंब जय जिजाऊ जय शिवराय जय शंभूराजेApril 5, 1663
