"रायगडावर" इंग्रजांनी १ मे १८१८ रोजी हल्ला चढवला व त्याचे नेतृत्व करत होता 'क्याप्टन प्रॉथर', यावेळी गडाचा 'किल्लेदार' होता "अबुल फतेखान". आपल सारं बळ एकटवुन गडावरचा "भगवा" तो संभाळत होता, मराठे इंग्रजांना टक्कर देत होते पण अखेर आजच्या दिवशी १० मे १८१८ रोजी गडावर "दारुगोळ्याचा" प्रचंड स्फोट होवून सारा गड 'धडाडून' पडला. वर सुर्याची उन्हाळी 'आग', खालुन इंग्रजांची तोफबंदुकीची 'आग' आणी गडावरच्या 'आगीत' गड "होरपळुन" निघाला. इंग्रज अधिकारी "क्याप्टन प्रॉथर" गडात शिरला तेव्हा एका लहानग्या झुडपाच्या सावलीत १ "स्त्री" बसली होती ती म्हणजे शेवटच्या बाजीराव पेशव्यांच्या पत्नी "श्रीमंत वाराणसी बाईसाहेब पेशवे".क्याप्टन प्रॉथर त्यांच्याशी 'अदबीने' व 'आदराने' वागला त्याने त्यांना "मेण्यात" बसवुन 'पुण्याकडे' रवाना केले.रायगडावर उरली फक्त "राख" सारे वाडे, राजसभा आणी जे होत नव्हत सारं जळुन खाक झालं आणी सर्वात जास्त जळालं ते १० दिवस गडाचं रक्षण करणार्या "अबुल फतेखानचं" आणी "मराठी सैनिकांचं" काळीज.🏇🏻⛳🏇🏻⛳🏇🏻⛳🏇🏻⛳🏇🏻⛳🏇🏻 जय जगदंब जय जिजाऊ जय शिवराय जय शंभूराजेMay 10, 1635

"Raigad" was attacked by the British on May 1, 1818 and was led by "Captain Prother", this time the "fortress" of the fort was "Abul Fateh Khan".
